Holiday Season in Prescott

December ushers in the holiday season and plenty of things to see and do in Prescott. There are ample activities throughout the area to appease all age groups. This month come enjoy the World’s Largest Gingerbread Village. This outstanding site is being hosted in the Prescott Resort & Conference Center. The center is opened 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to accommodate all schedules. Children will enjoy the hundreds of gingerbread houses on display. Just remember no nibbling on the houses, but they do have refreshments you can purchase. Prescott is quickly becoming the best place to spend the holidays in Arizona. Until December 30th, the Prescott Gateway Mall is hosting the “Enchanted Christmas” light spectacular. Each room on the tour is set up with various holiday themes. There are a total of 56 Christmas villages including the likes of “A Dickens Christmas.” Don’t forget to see the Polar Express Train running through the village either. Till January 3 of 2016, the storybook by Chris Van Allsburg will come to life. Go through Williams, Arizona and visit the captivating splendor of “The North Pole.” Santa Claus and all of his reindeer will be standing by and they have presents to give to those who have been good. Watch your child gleam as they find out that Santa has a treat for them. They also have chocolate chip cookies and hot cocoa to enjoy during the Storytime. If you love fresh produce and baked goods that melt in your mouth, then you simply must visit the Prescott Winter Farmers Market. From November through April, come support local farmers and their yummy treats. It’s held on the grounds of the YRMC Pendleton Center from 10 am till 1 pm. There’s something here for everyone and all taste buds. Support the locals and come out and find something amazing to add to a holiday meal.

Art exhibits are always a great deal of fun, but what if the art is wearable? From November till December 29th, the ‘Tis presents “Adorn Yourself.” The show was created by art legends Joan Knight, Barb Wills and Leslie Parsons. They will show you their spectacular displays and allow customers to order or purchase various items. For those who cannot find the perfect Christmas gift this year, this stop is a must. With jewelry and unique scarves that are one of a kind, there’s nothing better than seeing art in motion.

The Valley of Lights is a tradition that has been going on for decades. This drive through light display allows those who are handicapped and perhaps cannot walk will enjoy this magnificent drive. It is located in Fain Park in Prescott Valley, and it’s an evening to remember. FromNovember 26-December 30th, this free event is just what the family would love to explore during the holidays.

Finally, the Blazin’ M Ranch is putting on a holiday show that is sure to make you smile. Through December 27th, come enjoy a knee-slapping good time. With banjos and other country music, it’s a sing-a-long to remember. For one night only, on December 18th, they are having a holiday magic show. Their regular show is set in an old western town with plenty of comedy, music and toe-tapping fun. If an old fashioned tractor ride or champion yodelers sounds like your cup of tea, be sure to stop by and visit.
