October 15, 2026
Down in the Valley, October is closure season for golf. The Arizona Golf Association's 2026 overseeding schedule shows Papago Golf Club in Phoenix closed from October 12 to November 2, and Paradise Valley Country Club closed from October 12 to November 5. On the same list, Prescott Golf Club in Dewey is marked "No," with no closing or reopening dates.
So the clubhouse on Prescott Country Club Boulevard stays open all month. The club's own October 2026 calendar shows how that works. The course work happens in pieces, in the afternoons, one nine at a time. Meanwhile Redwoods Grill keeps the same weekly dinner nights, with Halloween as the one exception. Anyone living in Prescott Country Club can plan the rest of October around that.
Skipping overseeding is normal at this elevation. The same AZGA table shows The Club at Prescott Lakes and Quailwood Greens, the other course in Dewey, also marked "No." The difference shows up in the day-to-day schedule. The course stays open, but parts of it have regular downtime.
The club's October calendar lists the standing hours.
The Wednesday range closure is the one that trips people up. Men's Club tees off at 9 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday mornings, and Ladies Club starts at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays. So a Wednesday bucket of balls has to happen before lunch.
Prices are stable too. The club's 2026 rate page says the current schedule took effect September 1, 2026, and that pricing is not dynamic. For regular players, the 2026 Mountain Card is the club's loyalty program. It offers unlimited rounds at Mountain Card rates, reduced daily guest rates, three-day advance online tee times, and one free round that must be used by December 31, 2026. Today is October 12, so a cardholder who hasn't used that free round has about eleven weeks left, and the late-fall weather won't make every one of them a golf day.
While the course works around maintenance, the restaurant keeps a fixed schedule. Redwoods Grill describes itself as serving both members and the public. Its posted hours are Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with weekday happy hour from 3 to 5 p.m. The calendar adds that the kitchen closes 30 minutes before the dining room.
The October calendar builds a regular week on top of those hours:
| Day | What Redwoods runs | Hours |
|---|---|---|
| Sunday | Sunday Breakfast | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. |
| Tuesday | Taco Tuesday | 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. |
| Thursday, Oct. 15 | Karaoke Night | 5 to 8 p.m. |
| Friday | Fish & Shrimp Fry, while supplies last | 4 to 7 p.m. |
| Saturday | Prime Rib Night, reservations recommended, while supplies last | 4 to 7 p.m. |
Karaoke isn't weekly. The calendar shows it on October 1 and October 15, and the grill stays open until 8 p.m. on karaoke Thursdays. That makes this Thursday the last karaoke night on the October calendar before Halloween. The calendar lists Saturday prime rib as "while supplies last" and recommends reservations. Dining reservations go through (928) 772-8812.
This week the regular schedule gets an extra layer. Prescott Valley Restaurant Week runs October 9 through 18, 2026. The Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Prescott Valley Economic Development Division, and ExplorePVAZ.com present it together. Redwoods Grill is on the participant list even though its address is 1030 N Prescott Country Club in Dewey.
There's no single prix-fixe format. Each restaurant chooses its own offer, from multi-course meals to discounts or signature dishes. Redwoods went with a short list of specials, according to the Town's business listing:
The two smoked dishes go well beyond the Taco Tuesday and fish fry menu. The pizza and carbonara come in under the price of the tri-tip.
There's a voting component. The Town page links to a 2026 People's Choice survey with separate votes for best breakfast/lunch and best dinner. According to SignalsAZ's coverage, the winning restaurants get bragging rights and a Restaurant Week trophy. The roster lists 35 restaurants, from Backburner Family Restaurant to Yogis Grill. Prescott Club at StoneRidge is also on the list.
The final days of Restaurant Week line up with the regular schedule. Friday the 16th has the fish fry, and Saturday the 17th has Prime Rib Night. The calendar marks Restaurant Week on every day through Sunday the 18th.
That Saturday has a second event a few minutes up the highway. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona is holding Shotgun '26 on October 17. It's a trap tournament with lunch and a raffle at Prescott Trap & Skeet Club, 10800 AZ-69 in Dewey-Humboldt, and proceeds go to local youth programs, according to SignalsAZ's event listing. A morning at the trap range and a 4 p.m. prime rib reservation fit in the same day without much driving.
The course's biggest job this month starts right after Restaurant Week ends. In the week of October 19, the calendar schedules greens aerification in stages: the putting green and front nine first, then the back nine. The back nine stays open during the front-nine work, the front nine reopens for the back-nine work, and the work begins at 1 p.m.
At the Valley courses on the AZGA list, October means weeks with no golf. Here it means a few afternoons on nine holes. The calendar's grid makes it hard to tell exactly which operation falls on which day that week, so a call to the pro shop at (928) 772-8984 is the reliable way to time a full eighteen. Morning tee times avoid the issue, since aerification doesn't start until 1 p.m.
The grill's schedule doesn't change that week. The calendar shows Taco Tuesday on the 20th and the fish fry on Friday the 23rd. Prime Rib Night is back on Saturday the 24th, with reservations recommended as usual.
October 31, 2026, falls on a Saturday, and it's the only Saturday this month that the calendar doesn't mark as Prime Rib Night. That evening Redwoods Grill is serving Halloween specials alongside the regular menu and hosting Scary-Oke with a costume contest from 5 to 8 p.m. The October 15 karaoke night is the only other karaoke on the calendar between now and then, so Halloween is the next chance to sing at the clubhouse after this Thursday.
The rest of that last week follows the usual pattern: Sunday breakfast on the 25th, Men's and Ladies Club mornings, Taco Tuesday on the 27th, and the fish fry on Friday the 30th. The club's Redwoods page and the reservation line at (928) 772-8812 will have any changes once the November calendar comes out.
